THE EIGHT FIFTY FOOD GROUP STORY
We were formed in 2019 following the purchase of Young’s Seafood, the UK’s biggest specialist seafood brand, by Karro Food Group, one of the leading pork processors in the UK. The transaction brought together two highly complementary businesses to create an international multi-protein food Group with a well-diversified longstanding customer base.
In one square nautical mile, there are approximately 850 acres. Eight Fifty Food Group represents the the unity of land and sea, with leading positions in the growing pork and seafood categories.
We have a strong reputation for optimal animal welfare standards in pork and responsible fish sourcing, with unrivalled sustainable and ethical production chain traceability across the Group.
We operate as a leading processor and supplier of branded and own label products across two divisions: pork and seafood. Both historically established divisions are in categories experiencing consistent long-term growth and are made up of businesses run by their own management teams, overseen by the Eight Fifty Food Group Board of Directors, led by our chief executive Di Walker.
OUR GROWTH STRATEGY
Our growth strategy has recently seen us further expand both divisions with the purchases of M&M Walshe Holdings and AliSa International, trading as Greenland Seafood. We continue to look for attractive opportunities to further position us as a market leading European food Group with a global customer base.
We continually invest in our modern production facilities and in technologies that enable us to lead the way in product innovation, while adhering to the highest food standards and delivering to our customers and consumers in a cost-effective way.
